“Beauty is Blooming” Welcome to 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition

We are very happy to sponsor the 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo in Taiwan.
We have launched “Special Edition” Model: GR-01(M)  commemorating 2010 Taipei International Flora Expo.

The 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition will be held from November 6th, 2010 to April 25th, 2011. This is the first time the event will be held in Taiwan. Taipei is the seventh city in Asia to host such a gardening expo, and this is a chance for Taiwan to show the world its commitment to outstanding gardening and the achievements it has made in the biotechnology sector.
Featuring a theme of “Flower, River, New Horizon,” the Taipei Expo grounds spread across an area of 91.8 hectares with 14 unique exhibition pavilions in four major parks. Each pavilion will showcase the beauty of horticulture, biotechnology and environmental protection technology.
Unlike suburban expositions held in Kunming, Hamanako, Chiang Mai and other cities, the 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition will take place in the city center as a response to people’s desire for more urban green spaces. The site plans and designs of this year’s show incorporate urban renewal concepts.
It is estimated that as many as 8 million tourists will visit Taipei City for the 2010 Taipei International Flora Exposition. The Expo will help Taiwan share with the world its achievements in the areas of tourism, catering, gardening and biotechnology.

Copycat or Coincidence?

Nowadays more and more knock-offs are involved in people's daily life. Not surprisingly Photocatalyst Mosquito Killer is no exception. Recently we bought 2 similar products from the internet. We hope you can see the difference.

 Basically, their inside all look the same. I guess they probably come from the same manufacturer so we just look one product teardown.

Outside: Copycat electrical wire

Above are certificated electrical wire.

Inside: Copycat has many messy wires.

This is not gonna pass BSMI certification in Taiwan.

What size electrical wire do they use?

      

No-Name wire is thinner and very easy to pull apart.

Inside: Only use 2 screws to lock fan may cause fan noise easily.

  Let’s see photocatalytic reaction test.

Stamp ink is made by organic material and it would fade after photocatalytic activity.(if material has photocatalyst)

Take a wet towel to rub ink on the white plastic board of GR-01. Use a card to block 1/2 ink and put it under UV irradiance for 5 minutes.

We use large UV light to shorten the process of photocatalytic activity.

      Remove the card and you can see photocatalysic reaction let the blue ink fade.

     Unfortunately, copycat photocatalyst experiment doesn’t have the same result.

   Use another reagent to test photocatalytic activity. If material has photocatalyst, reagent will change color to light green.

We use same reagent to test copycat. It doesn’t have any change. Why am I not surprised ?
